Packs Pack Punch
The visible electronic boards,
data communications cables, and tri-colored light-emitting diodes
give LaZerware™ packs a cybernetic, high-tech, futuristic
appearance.
The ergonomically satisfying pack feels substantial, even powerful,
yet it is still comfortable to wear. The vest and phaser together
weigh less than 9 pounds.
Packs are packed with advanced electronic gear. Its processor manages
an array of infrared light sensors and colorful LED lights, while
coordinating internal functions and communications with the game
computer.
The sensors are constantly monitoring for infrared flashes from
other phasers. The LED lights, that identify the player and the
player’s team, will be turned off by the processor if the
player is tagged.
The processor instantly updates the phaser’s transflorescent,
easy to read, display screen. Players can easily check the status
of their score, ranking, and other vital mission statistics, even
in the darkest arena. The display uses a system that pumps lights
through the characters and not the screen’s background.
The speed of the processor is striking. The moment a trigger is
squeezed, a high-quality, solid-state laser diode emits a bright
flash of red laser light that splits the air and unmistakably illuminates
its target. An infrared light beam from another diode parallels
the laser, invisibly lighting another player’s sensors. The
other player’s pack notifies the game computer in real time,
and within milliseconds, the trigger puller’s display identifies
the tagged player.
All these activities are accompanied by appropriate pre-recorded
sounds, also coordinated by the pack’s processor.
Pleasing Phasers
Players like the phaser. It
doesn’t feel like a toy. It’s weighted; so two hands
are necessary for accurate aim, but not physically required for
discharging.
It has the right balance
and, when its use sets off laser beams and exciting sounds, it feels
like the right tool for the job.
The job is to tag an opponent.
When successful, the player is rewarded with a digital explosive
sound effect emitting from the tagged player’s pack. The tagged
player’s pack lights also shut down.
LaZerware™ phasers are built to give pleasure to players.
They are also built to pay off for operators. Fashioned for earnest
abuse, the phasers are forged from rugged, high-quality plastics
and can withstand high impacts. Durability like this means operators
do not need to invest in lots of backup packs, “just in case.”
Durability also means player satisfaction. Players soon tire of
playing at malfunction junction, where phasers fail during the game.
LaZerware™ is reliable. But, “just in case,” we've
used modular construction to solve any problems quickly. Should
an electronic component fail, it can easily be swapped. A pack can
be back in use in minutes.
Real Time Radio Communication
Intersphere’s real-time
communication system delivers a number of benefits to players and
operators.
Players are always aware of their current ranking in the game and
as a result, play stays intense up to the last second. The continuous
radio polling gives players greater mobility within an arena and
the operator has complete freedom for game scripting.
Real-time radio communication also means quicker game turn-around.
Players do not have to download their scores at the end of a game.
This means more games played per hour.
Intersphere supports the LaZerware™ system with a service
staff that is available by mobile phone 24 hours a day, 7 days a
week.
